To help our customers make better-informed decisions we have developed the following education center: to provide further detail on the types of auto detailing services we provide; to provide information on paint correction and paint scratch removal expectations; and to discuss the alternatives to cleaning automotive interiors.
Mobile Detailing – this means that we come to your home, office, place of business, auto dealership, hotel, convention center or any place in the Austin, Lakeway, Bee Cave, Westlake Hills, Rollingwood and surrounding areas.
Paint Polishing – the process of restoring shine to painted surfaces through the use of professional quality detailing chemicals and electric polishing equipment.
Paint Decontamination (Clay Bar) – washing alone is not enough to clean the clear coat and painted surface on automobiles. Detailing clay mechanically removes pollutants attached and embedded into the painted surface leaving the cleanest surface possible. Paint decontamination is an important step in the automotive detailing process.
Paint Correction – the process of using professional quality detailing products and advanced machine polishing techniques to level the painted surface, remove imperfections and restore depth and shine. The surface is then protected with a paint sealant or wax application.
Paint Swirls and Holograms – swirls and holograms are micro scratches in the surface of the paint and are common defects caused by high speed polishers. Swirls and holograms are very visible in black or dark colored paints. Removal includes paint correction and paint polishing techniques.
Paint Oxidation – oxidation is the process where the outermost layers of auto paint interact with the oxygen molecules in the air eventually dulling the paint and leaving a white residue. Restoration efforts may include removing several layers of affected paint and reapplying a new layer of protectant. This is why professional car detailers recommend at least one layer of wax or other protectant be used every time the car is washed.
Over Spray – paint over spray is where paint from another source becomes attached and embedded in automotive paint. Sources include paint from nearby house painting services. Over spray correction traditionally begins with a paint decontamination and clay bar application process.
Hand Wash With Clean Mitts and Two Bucket Method – improper hand washing or washing with a brush can be a potential source of damage to your paint. Car Beautiful uses the two bucket hand washing system with clean mitts. The process uses mitts instead of sponges. Sponges can trap dirt and particles which can scratch the surface. We use two buckets to further reduce the possibility of contaminants coming into contact with the painted surface. We use one bucket with a specialty ph balanced soap for washing the painted surface. The second bucket contains only fresh water for rinsing and decontamination of the mashing media.
